Summer Smoothie Bowl

It’s hot…like 92 degrees with 65% humidity hot!

I just want to do three things today…

  • lay on my porch in the shade with a good book
  • wear barely any clothes
  • enjoy something cold and refreshing

 

Unfortunately life has other plans today, but I did have time to accomplish one out of those three things; enjoy something cold and refreshing! It’s super important to stay hydrated during these hot summer months. Personally, I do not struggle with my water intake, but I know many people who do. A fantastic way to add in extra water without even trying is EAT MORE FRUIT! Yes! Fruits contain such high amounts of water, bananas alone contain 75% and strawberries 92%!

If you want to feel and look your best, you must treat your body with respect. Give your body what it’s ACTUALLY craving (not what your mind is craving). Waking up and fueling on fruit not only hydrates the body from the long hours spent sleeping, it also increases energy, helps stabilizes blood pressure, and increases immune function.

When your eating a plant-based diet your body works less to keep you going, overall creating a happier, healthier you.

 

Let’s get to the recipe! 

Summer Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie:

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tbsp. matcha green tea powder
  • 3-4 frozen bananas
  • 1 big handful of spinach
  • About ½-1 cup vanilla cashew milk

Toppings:

  • 1 tbsp. cacao nibs
  • 1 tbsp. pepitas
  • 1 tsp. shredded coconut
  • Blue berries
  • Strawberries

Directions:

Step 1.) In a high-speed blender, place all the ingredients for smoothie into it. Blend on medium-high until a creamy smoothie texture is created.

Step 2.) Pour the smoothie into any type of bowl.

Step 3.) Layer on the toppings and enjoy!
