Hello!
I am a lover of almost all plant-based milk. There are so many varieties to choose from. It seems that almost every time I go into the grocery store the milk section is being taken over by more and more plant milk companies (what a win!).
I have yet to make my own but I see this becoming more popular recently, mainly due to how cheap it is to create your own rather than buy it in store. I do plan on making more in the future and possibly having my own little plant milk section here on my blog. For now, I will share with you this tasty treat that serves well in a bowl of cereal, paired with oats, or even in your morning coffee.
HEMP MILK
(Step-by-step photos – scroll down to the bottom for full recipe)
Place the 1/4 cup of hemp seeds into a high-speed blender, also add the salt and maple syrup.
Add the 4 cups of water into the blender as well. (basically just throw all the ingredients into a blender).
Blend for about 1-2 minutes, until smooth and milky. If you’d like it sweet feel free to add more maple syrup.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup of raw shelled hemp seeds
- 4 cups of water
- 1/4 tsp of Himalayan salt
- 1-2 tsp of maple syrup
Directions
- Add all of the ingredients into a high-speed blender (water, hemp seeds, salt, maple syrup).
- Blend on high for about 1-2 minutes until smooth and milky.
- Store in fridge for up to 5 days.
Note: you may add more or less maple syrup depending on how sweet you like it, for me this amount is perfect.
